The Stillinger Herbarium was established in 1892, contemporaneous with the founding of the University of Idaho, and has grown to become the largest herbarium in Idaho and the 7th largest of the ~65 herbaria in the Pacific Northwest. This position is responsible for research, teaching, outreach and herbarium management in coordination with the Herbarium Director. This position serves as an independent researcher on topics associated with the collection, including but not limited to systematics, phylogenetics, plant evolution, rare plants, invasive plants, and climate change.
